What is a good shampoo to use for a dog that has dry skin?

I've been using a detergent free, with oatmeal and aloe, to bath my dog. But his skin is still dry, probably because he is more of an inside dog, then outside. Any ideas?

My puppy had/has the same issue. I took her to the vet, they tested her for mites. She is also more indoor dog than outdoor, Soooo, they tested and it was negative, but they gave a shampoo for them for sensitive skin, it helped ALOT, plus Antibiotics because it could be just a viral infection of the skin..Which has helped ALOT!!! It takes time. But she isnt scratching anymore or biting her skin...and NO its not fleas, she is on Flea treatment and where she bites/scratches is always the same spot, she used to bite so much it would start scabbing, So it was vet time..anyways Vets give good shampoos. Or even, ask a groomer, they SHOULD know what helps with dry skin, oatmeal/aloe is very good, get the kind the groomers recommend! What is a good shampoo to use for a dog that has dry skin?
talk to your vet and see what they recamend
Our Vet gave us a shampoo especially for dry skin and it worked wonderfully. It cost 12.95 but it was very well worth it. So I would check with your Vet. Good Luck!
