How do I get rid of Dried Shampoo Flakes??

I know this might sound really gross but I wash my hair at night, and I wash it well, then I try to wash all the shampoo out and then it still dries on my head and forms flakes! Its really gross! Does any one have a soulution that I can find in the house? How do I get rid of Dried Shampoo Flakes??
Do yourself a favor and invest in your hair!

Most of the shampoos you buy in the store have wax in them as a filler and will make a build up which can turn into flakes.

Go to the salon and get a clarifying treatment about once a month or every other month. Get some good shampoo (a good one to start on is Matrix Biolage) which may seem expensive, but all professional shampoos can be diluted 1/2 distilled water 1/2 product in another containter (shake REALLY well before using) and will work just as well. How do I get rid of Dried Shampoo Flakes??
hot oil treatment
dont use shampoo next time.
It's probably not dried shampoo flakes. You are probably using a cheap over the counter shampoo that has too many chemicals in it. Try changing shampoos more frequently. Better to buy really good shampoos like Redken or Paul Mitchel from your beauty shop. Those over the counter are NOT the same thing. I had a BAD case of what I thought was dandruff. My beautician suggested I try Redken. It cleared it up. Now I only use name brand from my beautician. I change from time to time but not to over the counter type.
Change your shampoo.. it might be dandruff not your shampoo..
have you tried any other shampoos products, hun?
When you rinse your hair, put some vinegar in the rinse water. I know this sounds gross, but I promise that your hair will not stink. Vinegar is a natural astringent. I have used it for years and I rinse my hair once a week to get out the styling products. You will be pleasantly surprised how clean and refreshed your hair will be.
it's probably dandruff

u should use the pantene anti dandruff

it really helps

also use the pantene ice shine conditioner to smooth out your hair

another reason could probably be that u don't wash your hair everyday
thats dandruff

see a doctor
My wife had the same problem and now she has this problem no more. You can try this out and see it it helps you.

yea .it happend to me i just went to my hair dreaser and talked to her and i got better shampoo . it is more money but it works.
use a different shampoo. i rmemeber because i once had that and i hated it because i would honestly try to get like all of the shampoo out. but it was the shampoo because when i started using a different shampoo and it went away. and don't like pick a them because it just makes it worse. alot worse. it becomes more flakier
Are you sure you don't have dandruff honey? If your sure it's just from dried shampoo you can wash your hair again with baking soda (arm and hammer stuff NOT baking powder) This works as a great clarifier and will strip your hair of all the unnecessary goo.
it could be dandruff, or maybe your shampoo. first you should try a shampoo special for dandruff. if that doesn't work than surly you know that it's the shampoo lol. here are some really great cheap one that i used to use:

suave $2

Aussie $2

vo5 $1

the ones on the pricier side (but totally worth it sometimes) are:

pantene $4

treseme $3

herbal essenses $3

the ones that are on the pricier

Hope that helps and good luck!

Shampoo = Head and shoulders (silk and smooth), Pantene, Meera ayurvedic.

Hair conditioners = Garnier is best. Lakme products, etc.

Its best to take natural mixtures like egg+ water, hot water with mehandi leaves etc.
my brother also suffered the same problem

so i suggest u 2 try dove nourishment shampoo and latest serum had arrived in the market.

one more thing these problems are seen when the season changes.
heral essences and loreal absolute repair, hair spa is also great
    Garnier/lakme products

Make sure you are using shampoo and conditioner formulated for dry hair. It might help to leave in the conditioner for a few minutes before you wash it out. If all of this fails, you should get your hair trimmed and washed professionally at least once a year.I use a shampoo and conditionaer on my hair and my hair still dry and i dont want to put cream What can i do?
several factors causes dry hair.too much exposure to sun,so wear a hat.vitamin deficiency.constant perming and dyeing.too much coffee.the brand of shampoo or conditioner you are using might be too strong for your hair.

try baby shampoo, and get some hotoil treatment.
First of all ONLY use a salon brand, not a cheap grocery store brand. Second of all you should wash your hair in the HOTTEST water possible. Apply the conditioner and let it stand for one FULL minute minimum before you rinse it out. Rinse it out with the COLDEST water you can stand. This seals the conditioner into the hair and follicle.
towel dry before conditioner. if not then your conditioner sits on top of the water and can't do it's job. try it - you don't have to spend any more money and you can do it now.
Condition it with some semen!!!! It'll give it that natural shine!!!!!
Happened to me too. Use ';Dove'; Shampoo, you will see the results as soon as your hair dries, GUARENTEED!! :D :D!!

Best shampoo for me? I colored my hair, and it's kind of dry at times and frizzy, and sometimes it's fine?

My hair has only been streaked twice, and I use shampoo for color treated hair and also good conditioner. I take care of my hair, and wash my hair every other day, and condition once a week. But my hair comes out feeling dry and frizzy unless I use conditioner, I don't want to have to use conditioner every time I wash my hair. Sometimes, I come out the shower and my hair feels perfectly silky and smooth. Any advice on a good shampoo, please let me know!Best shampoo for me? I colored my hair, and it's kind of dry at times and frizzy, and sometimes it's fine?
Head %26amp; Shoulders.. another product you can use is TRESemme products. They work wonders and probably may work for you.Best shampoo for me? I colored my hair, and it's kind of dry at times and frizzy, and sometimes it's fine?
this is the most weirdest thing i have ever heard - why on earth u do not want to use conditioner? this is weird! use conditioner after each shampoo, conditioner should be the same brand and the same purpose as a shampoo (they even sell them together sometimes). i wash my hair every other day, i also straighten and die them regularly and i have very good hair anyway, cos i always use the right products for them. i like tigi*s cat walk for died hair. leaves my hair silky and smooth

and by the way about pantene and dove and other cheap bull - CHEAP STUFF NEVER WORKS!!!! u want to have nice hair - spend , spend, spend. tigi is not a cheap sh''it and it works.
I know for me it is the same way so I wash my hair every 2 to three days so the nutrients are always in my hair. It is recommended to wash your hair every 2 - 4 days or the natural nutrients can be stripped. I have used all kinds on every budget. I think pantene is okay but is not the best, Dove for advanced treatment works well, tresemme works not too bad either. It really depends, I also use paul mitchell which can be quite costly though. Good Luck!
My hair is very dry and damaged from using the flat iron. I have been using Dove shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair for a few weeks now and I am starting to notice a difference. Also I put an egg on my hair and let it stay on over night and washed it out the next morning, and it made my hair soft.
i swear by mane %26amp; tail.it's a bit more cost wise, but it repaired my damaged hair....and i was also losing my hair and it turned it back into soft healthy hair....i've had it every color, and just streaked as well, that and stress just took a heavy toll....i still dry it (only the roots) and it is so soft against my neck, and a comb just breezes through....good luck!♥
Do shampoo every other day but condition everyday. Also get hair treatments at least once a week but stay out of hot treatments.
apply vitamin e to fresh washed hair

    not the scalp

along with regular trims it will make it grow fast

tames the frizzies and deep conditions

    its cheap and great stuff
Aveeno Nourish and The Loreal Sulfate Free are good ones. I think the best way to get soft hair is to condition. There is nothing wrong with conditiong everyday.
Redken, Alterna or something like that. Or Fekkai - also good
Your doing the right thing by using the shampoo for color treated hair but you MUST condition after each wash especially if you have color treated hair. If your hair is oily, like mine you only have to put conditioner on the ends where the nape of your neck starts down.

I have color treated hair also and not only do I condition, I also use a leave in conditioner called Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-in Conditioner by HealthySexyHair c/o BigSexyHair co. It's a spray and it's awesome! You get it in salons or online.

Here's why, if you were to take a strand of hair that is damaged or not conditioned and put it under a microscope it would look like a pinecone. This is why hair feels so rough, dry and frizzy. You don't see it but you feel it. Whenever you condition the hair, the pinecone closes up and the conditioner ';seals'; the hair shaft making it smooth, shiny, and silky feeling again.

If you want to spend extra, Bed Head's Dumb Blonde shampoo/conditioner is the best for chemically treated hair. Despite the name, you can use it if your a brunette too. Just remember to condition, condition, condition.

You get what you pay for. All drugstore shampoo is really harsh and full of wax, it is the cause of your dry hair asside from chemicals and heat, so there is nothing that you can buy at a store that will help. Aussie is the best thing at a drugstore as they use less harsh chemicals and wax, but it is still crap, and the conditioner is pointless. If you want the problem to go away you are going to have to treat your hair will and not abuse it with drugstore crap. Use a shampoo for color treated hair, they are more gentle, but salon quality, sorry that is just how it is. You cannot put moisture back into hair, that is not possible, all you can do is prevent it from being sucked out by harsh shampoo.
    get head and shoulders shampoo.

its for dry scalp and i HAVE to use it or i itch it and it flakes everywhere.

you could prbably find some leave in conditioner from head and shoulders to help even more.
try Giovanni smooth as silk deep moisture shampoo and conditioner it's a lot more healthier for your hair because it's organic and does not have the damaging ingredients that commercial shampoos have

    Does this dry shampoo work?

Matrix Biolage Scalptherapie Oil Control Treatment?

I have a greasy scalp, and baby powder doesn't really do it for me, I was wondering if the dry-shampoo is worth it so I don't have to really wash my hair everyday, or so it won't look greasy later in the day.

Does this work? Is it worth it? Is there something else I should try?Does this dry shampoo work?
I am sorry but i dont know if this shampoo you are talking about helps..

But i can suggest you somethings. first since you have greasy scalp its advisable to wash your hair daily.. If you cant because of busy schedule make it a point you wash it every alternate day. Greasy hair and scalp need to be cleaned very often to keep them clean.

Now i would suggest you 2 products. First Herbal essences Drama clean range. It works wonders for hair like yours and is affordable. Second is Garnier Fructis Daily care range. Again an excellent range for greasy hair.. You can try both of them. Switching between shampoos is perfectly allright and both shampoos can be used daily. But dont forget to condition after you shampoo. Use the conditioners that come with the shampoo in that complete range..Does this dry shampoo work?
Try it and see if it works..TEA TREE SHAMPOO..

A gentle botanical shampoo containing organic essential oils of Tea Tree, Peppermint %26amp; Spearmint to keep hair %26amp; scalp free from flakes and looking good..
Try to stay away from shampoos that have Sodium Laureth Sulphate in them.
yea i use pert plus and it is good but it smells awsome and pantee pro-v any kind.i hope i helped

    What does dry shampoo do?

can you use leave-in conditioner when you use dry shampoo?

    :)

thank you in advance!!!What does dry shampoo do?
The idea behind dry shampoo is to spray it in your roots on that day after you take a shower, and your not shampooing it till then next day. It has a lot of alcohol in it, and the alcohol absorbs the natural excessive oils from your hair, therefore it's a 'shampoo' cause there isn't as much noticeable grease. And you probably could use leave-in conditioner with it, just as long as you don't have to wash the conditioner out..What does dry shampoo do?
dry shampoo are for the times you need to clean your hair and can't get it wet. It is often used for people who are sick and can't get out of bed. Sometimes it's used between washes.

As for the leave in conditioner, I don't really know , I can't see why not but you might want to call the information number on the package and asks.
dry sampoo actually makes your hair smooth...

and yes you can totally use a leave in conditioer when you use a dry shampoo..

tres`maey (for sumn like that i dunno how to spell it)
Shampoo is a very personal thing. Without knowing more details about your hair texture and scalp condition, I hesitate to make any recommendations. However, I personally swear by Mastey products and I use Zeal from their sister company for scalp problems. They're among the gentlest shampoos around, originally designed to prevent hair color fading, but it turns out the surfactants they use also reduce the occurrence of scalp irritation and damaged hair. It will clean your scalp without stripping your hair. And the conditioners use natural humectants to moisturizer your hair, rather than oils, waxes, or silicones.

There are other things to consider too. One issue is how you shampoo. Consider first rinsing your hair leaning forward so that your hair all goes outward from the back of the crown. Then apply the shampoo there and work it outward throughout the scalp, but don't shampoo the ends of the hair. This way, you get your scalp clean but minimize the washing of the hair. A shampoo massage brush may also help.

Then when you condition, do the opposite. Start by applying the conditioner to the ends and then work it in.

It stands to reason: you want your scalp cleaned but you want your hair conditioned.

One more thing. Unless you have very curly hair that breaks easily, look into getting a hairbrush made with natural boar bristle and brush your hair regularly. natural boar bristle does an excellent job of spreading the sebum from the scalp to the length of the hair, which is good when you have an oily scalp but dry ends.

    Good luck!
Try using a shampoo for oily scalp/hair, and latter apply an ultra moisturizing conditioner for the hair.

Also do deep conditioning treatments once every two weeks to a month.

    That should do the trick.
tea tree shampoo and conditioner....paul mitchell has a great one
maybe not shampoo..... here are some home remedies which are very good for dry hair. i had dry hair myself but when i tried these tips it was great! they've never been dry again!

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away

Go for the Mayo: Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Mix up a Tropical Treat: Mash one over-ripe banana (the blacker, the better) with a mushy, rotten avocado. Massage this exotic puree into your hair and leave on for at least 15 minutes before washing out鈥n the kitchen sink!).

Grab a Cold One. Beer can give your dry hair a healthy sheen. Before you blow-dry or style, use a pump bottle to spray brew onto your hair. The beer will leave your hair shiny and sleek and its odor will disappear quickly.

In addition to using these home remedies regularly to avoid dry hair, try the following preventative measures:

    Avoid overshampooing. Shampooing can wash away the hair's protective oils, so try washing less often and use a mild shampoo labeled ';for dry or damaged hair.';

Condition regularly. Conditioners protect the hair鈥檚 cuticle layer from splitting from the shaft. Pick a conditioner that works well for your hair and use it after every shampoo.

Wear a hat. Too much exposure to wind and sun can leave hair thirsty.

Trim off split ends. The biggest problem caused by dry hair is split ends. Schedule a trim every six to eight weeks to keep fraying ends under control.

Ease up on the heat. Heat (in the form of blow dryers, as well as straightening and curling irons) can quickly dry out hair. Let your hair air dry occasionally. Try using plastic cylinder rollers to straighten hair by wrapping slightly moist hair under and around rollers for about 10 minutes. For curling, try using sponge rollers overnight or sleeping with moist braids.

Don't swim without a cap. Use a rubber cap to protect your hair from the damaging effects of chlorine. If you must forgo a cap, rub a spoonful of olive oil into your hair before diving in.

also heres a very good website which could help you out with all hair problems!

    http://www.pioneerthinking.com/hair.html

    Good luck!!:)

Another thing is also putting in lotion in your hair after you have gotten out of the shower and you can also put in lotion in hair after you have dried it.

Just rub some lotion on your finger tips and run it through your hair evenly.

Also, something that will help your hair is to take COLDshowers. What most people dont know is that if you take hot showers, the heat gets rid of the oils and other things that your hair needs to be kept healty and shiney.

    Hope this helps!

If this doesnt help just contact me and i can give you more tips for your dry hair!

Smash an avocado and mix with jojoba and peppermint oils. Make sure its really smooth you may want to put it in a food processor with a little water. Then apply some to your scalp and the rest on your hair. Massage for a minute or so then put on a plastic cap. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes. The avocado and jojoba oils will moisterize and the peppermint will stimulate your scalp to loosen any dead skin and open your pores. It will feel great. Your hair will grow better and won't be dry. :)
I'm sure head and shoulders has something.. they have a shampoo for everything, and it works great.

  • Shampoo/ Conditioner that actually works for dry hair?

i use the hydrating stuff but my hair is still dry. any tips?Shampoo/ Conditioner that actually works for dry hair?
Shampoo cleans hair, that is all it can do. But drugstore shampoo has really harsh chemicals that dry out your hair. If you have to use it, use Aussie, they have less harsh chemicals and wax. But only salon quality shampoo can really help you. Conditioner from the drugstore doesn't really do anything either. I suggest Fashonista by Catwalk, and any Matrix conditioner.Shampoo/ Conditioner that actually works for dry hair?
umm..use oil before washing and don't use too much of shampoo...!?!
Maybe try changing shampoo and conditioner every once in a while.

At the moment I use herbal essences, long term relationship shampoo and conditioner and it works great for my hair, what I do is~

Tip: Don't leave shampoo in because it dries out your hair

1: Shampoo twice and then get out of the shower, get changed and put a towel around your neck for step 2

2: Make sure your hair is out and is on the towel so your clothes don't get damaged.

3: Get your conditioner and put it on your hair well still wet, like you are putting it on in the shower and then once your whole head is full of it, especially your ends, wrap it up in the towel and wait an hour

4: Rinse it out in lukewarm water and let it air dry.

5: You will have silky hair but make sure there are no knots or left-over products in your hair so that way there are no oil clumps or bad smells and so on..............

    6: Enjoy

Best shampoo for brunettes with short, dry hair?

I have really dry hair and I'm a brunette. I want to ask all the ladies out there to tell me their best shampoo. I would like a shampoo that makes hair grow longer, and shinier. Thanks!Best shampoo for brunettes with short, dry hair?
Hey, I have the same problem except mines medium length. Anyways, you can use Tresemmee* Color Thrive Conditioner, buy it at walmart. And Aussie Sydney Smooth 3 minute miracle deep conditioner.

The Color Thrive stuff will bring out your color and make it soft, and the Aussie stuff will make it hydrated and manageable. Good luck babesss :)Best shampoo for brunettes with short, dry hair?
I HAVE FOUND THAT PANTENE ICE SHINE SHAMPOO WORKS REALLY WELL AND TO MAKE YOUR HAIR GROW TAKE A MULTIVITAMIN EVERYDAY SUCH AS ';ONEADAY'; VITAMINS. NO SHAMPOO IS GOING TO MAKE YOUR HAIR GROW. YOU HAVE TO TREAT THAT INTERNALLY.
Use Garnier's Sleek and Shine. It gives you hydration and shine. It also helps cut down frizzyness. To make your hair grow longer, all you need to do is eat healthy, exercise, and wash your hair every other day. Try to avoid straighteners/curling irons. But if you have to use them, use a good heat protection. The one's from John Frieda and Tre Semme are great.
Try Bead Head Dumb Blonde....it isn't just for blonde hair, its for any damaged or dry hair in general and its really great. I fried my hair over the summer trying to bleach it from black to blonde (really BAD idea, lol)...anyway. Its brown now and in good shape thanks to that shampoo. It repairs really well.

But the key is not to use it too often.

    She uses Batiste.
Over time the Dry Shampoo will create a waxy build up inside your hair follicles. I am a cosmetologist. Any professional shampoo will not create a build up in your hair follicles that will slow the growth per month down over time.
no. i had powder stuff where you spray it on then wipe off the powder after a few mins...but the whiteness of the powder still stayed, and my hair was still greasy. wel it could be that i have black hair, but it didnt work for me.
I use Toni %26amp; Guy dry shampoo and it works great, I'd definitely reccomend it. It's a little bit more expensive than Batiste, around 鈧? (not sure about pounds?!) but I think it's worth it.
Its great and only 拢1.99 in Semi-Chem, at that price u have 2 try it!! :)
Not unless it's improved since the 1970s. It's a ridiculous idea. Why not just buy sachets of dandruff?

    Does dry shampoo work......?

    i have two questions

does it make your head ich?

do i straighten my hair before i use it or after?Does dry shampoo work......?
Dry shampoo just makes your hair look less greasy, and if you make sure it's all rubbed in properly then it shouldn't irritate your head.

And it's best to straighten your hair before but it doesn't really make a difference ;)Does dry shampoo work......?
I'm not familiar with the modern form of 'dry shampoo', but am certain it's extremely similar to a failed product of the 1970's. I think it was brought out by Breck or some huge brand name. It was aerosol spray!! You would spray into your hair, and comb and/or brush it around. But the problem with it was it was mostly baby powder!! which made the product a white powder. So you'd have a faint white residue in your hair leftover!!!

You can see why it didn't last long.

But it did it's job. As others have said, it removes the oil from your hair, which it did, but it was purely as an emergency treatment. I tried it with mousy blonde hair, and it did a great job of getting rid of the oiliness, but that white stuff in the hair was terrible.

It sounds like that product is very similar in use to these modern ones by others answers. You should straighten or treat your hair first, use the dry shampoo last. And yes, it might make your head it. It shouldn't, but you never know what reaction you can get from using it.
No it's for getting rid of oily hair. You can straighten it anytime after you apply it.

Can someone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner because i have Extremely dry and damaged hair?

    SAME :)

first you must get it trimmed :P should help loads!

and mine's damaged from my straightener, and coloring. And tonight I tried the new hair stuff I bought... and what's working for me is Infusium 23. I use the coloroligie collection. I use the shampoo just on the top of my head. Then I use Alberto V05 hair mask. I leave it on for 5 min. Then rinse. Then I use Infusium 23 conditioner and put it on the bottom half of my hair. and leave it there for 3 min, then rinse in cold water.

Then I used Dove frizz control, and John Frieda Anti frizz Serum. And my hair looks amazing :)

It's even shiny!! I'm like wth? but yeah. hope that helps :D

I'm just letting you know, not everything works the same on everyone else. But you could try it, because it's pretty cheap. But I'm sure there's better out there.

    Sorry I wrote so much.

Goodluck! Can someone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner because i have Extremely dry and damaged hair?
First off, buy some coconut oil (you can get it for relatively cheap, maybe a jar for $3-$4). Slather some on your hair and let it sit for 20 minutes or so, then wash with a moisturizing shampoo. Rinse out, towel your hair a little, and and put maybe a quarter size spot of conditioner on your hand and rub it in, and don't rinse it out. Depending on your length, you may want to do this once or twice a week.

My favorite brands are Pantene, Herbal Essences, and Sunsilk. Change it up every so often, and everyone in a while, spring for a higher end brand, like bedhead, and use that once a week or so.Can someone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner because i have Extremely dry and damaged hair?
DO NOT USE SUAVE!! suave has waxes and animal fats and will make your hair worse! Joico kpak is the absolute best. its about 12 a bottle maybe but it is amazing. or even better get a deep conditioner and do it once or twice a week.

so joico, graham webb has a single use deep conditioner for about 3 dollars, and bumble and bumble are all amazing. they are somewhat pricey but are worth it.

I went from black hair to blonde in 1 sitting (VERY damaging) and this has saved my hair.
    suave coconut shampoo and conditioner

it's GREAT! i use it, and i also use the suave coconut body wash
You should cut off the split ends. Trim them often, this will help keep your hair healthy. Here is a good product for you.

Redken so soft. You can get it at salons. It's a little pricey but well worth it. There's also a brand called Halo that works well, but I can rarely find it anywhere.
Dove intense therapy(dark blue bottle), I used to have really dry damaged hair too. It's make your hair very stong, and gives it a great shine.
Garnier Fructis: Sleek and Shine. And if you straighten your hair, i would also get the heat protectant made by them too. It works really good, for me anyways.

    Good luck

  • What's the best hydrating shampoo and or conditioner for SUPER dry hair?

The BEST conditioner I've ever used is Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment. This stuff is amazing! It turned my straw like hair into soft and silk locks. Even my hubby noticed a difference and that's a hard thing to do! It comes in a little brown jar and is kind of a paste. It turns to oil when you rub it between your palms. It comes with a pamphlet that tells you the many ways to use it. I leave it in for an hour or more then shampoo and condition. I was shocked by the results! It's like having a new head of hair. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror and touching it!

It does cost a bit more then drugstore brands but a small jar lasts a really long time because you only use a little bit at a time. Plus, when you see the results, you'll be glad you spent the extra.

You can find it at drugstore.com, QVC.com, sephora.com and ojon.com.

I highly recommend this product. You will NEVER have dry and damaged hair again! What's the best hydrating shampoo and or conditioner for SUPER dry hair?
redken. a little pricy but worth itWhat's the best hydrating shampoo and or conditioner for SUPER dry hair?
All Soft by Redken. If you have fine hair it will weigh it down, but this is a super moisturizing line. Biolage is also good for hydration products.
I like Pureology...or you can try Aphogee's protien conditioning treatment...just make sure not to over do it...
biolage ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner.
I usually use Granier Fructis...I dont know what it is, but I love that product...it makes my hair soft and smooth and shiny. It also puts all the natural oils back in your hair
This gives excellent results. Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What is the ABSOLUTE BEST shampoo & conditioner for dry, damaged, nappy hair?

for being such a white boy, my ';ethnic hair'; is a mystery to all. What is the ABSOLUTE BEST shampoo %26amp; conditioner for dry, damaged, nappy hair?
    Nexxus

    Nexxus: Therappe Shampoo

    Nexxus: Humectress Conditioner

It is a shampoo and conditioner made for all hair types. I myself have an afro (which is hard to manage sometimes) and using Nexxus has made my hair really soft and more easier to manage. Especially with the conditioner, you can easily and instantly feel the difference after just using it once.

It gives the hair the moisture it needs (and having afro hair, we need ALOT of moisture) and it just has really good ingredients for your hair including all types of oils and vitamins.

I don't think I'll ever switch to another shampoo for my hair. ^_^What is the ABSOLUTE BEST shampoo %26amp; conditioner for dry, damaged, nappy hair?
Go into a nice salon and ask what products they recommend for the most specific advice. But I've used Bumble and bumble gentle shampoo, and it's very nourishing and made my hair really soft and conditioned (And I've got super thick hair that tends to get dry). They also have some good leave in products and a great treatment mask that you can use every two weeks or so to keep your hair in good condition. Every once in a while, you can also put warm olive oil (about a teaspoon) in your hair, let it sit for a half hour, and shampoo and condition as usual to add some moisture and deep condition. Also remember not to wash your hair every day - the best thing you can do for it is to wash it every other day at most, and steer clear of blow-dryers whenever possible. Hope this was helpful!

PS- If you're looking for a cheaper shampoo and conditioner, I now use Dove Intense Damage Therapy and it's the best drugstore shampoo and conditioner I've ever used. The conditioner is super rich and creamy.
The absolute best is Organix. It contains organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells AWESOME! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond, Rite-Aid, Wal-Mart, etc. Its' the best! You'll love it!!!

My hair is a bit frizzy and dry and looks horrible down. Any shampoo (and conditioner) ideas?

I've tried Dove, and the new Herbal Esscenses, Dove has worked best so far. (but bot good, just better)My hair is a bit frizzy and dry and looks horrible down. Any shampoo (and conditioner) ideas?
Honestly, you need to condition, condition, condition! Shampoo strips away oils, and since your hair is dry you need to condition it more. Also, a hot oil treatment every two or three weeks wouldn't hurt. Use a thick conditioner and sit under the dryer with it for about 30 mins then rinse. If you use a Chi or something like it, make sure you buy the heat protector to go with it. Good Luck!My hair is a bit frizzy and dry and looks horrible down. Any shampoo (and conditioner) ideas?
Try using shampoos with a cream formula with ingredients like propylene glycol and lauryl sulfate.

If your shampoo doesn't lather much means it's low Ph.

If your hair needs to be softened try using silicone-based formulas.

In my op,the best shampoo for curly hair is Pantene because it softens and nourishes the hair and doesn't make it too frizzy.
    frizz ease by john frieda
Mixed Chicks stuff should do the trick. Check out their testimonial page. If you order from them, they are really fast at delivery.
I'd stay away from grocery store brands.

Try Redken (it's a bit more pricey but well worth it). There's a line called AllSoft that I love. I use the shampoo and conditioner. Also, good for frizz is a shampoo and conditioner called Smooth Down (also by Redken). I think you will love it. Try the ButterCream leave-in conditioner - just a little but and you will not have frizz. You do have to blow dry though.

    Hope i helped.!
Drugstore shampoo is bad for your hair, it is full of harsh chemicals that cause dryness and frizz. You need a salon quality shampoo and conditioner, Matrix Sleek Looks is a great one. It is marketed for straight hair but actually works great on curly hair! Do not buy it at Target though. They don't sell salon quality things at Target, if they do it is gray marketed. This means that it is legal but is old, watered down, or simply not the product that is advertised on the bottle, since a supplier would never sell that product to a drugstore!
Redken smooth down or Fekkai glossing shampoo and conditioner are wonderful. You may also want to try Fekkai glossing cream, it is amazing for eliminating frizz and giving a smoother feel.

Hi, i have this problem and i find that head and shoulders even give me dandruff, i think T-Gel is good you can get it for dry hair also. But can i ask if you use any other hair products because this can cause dandruff as well as being allergic to most moisturising shampoos and ones with a strong sent. I have recently discover Lush and they dont use any chemicals in there toilerties and they do do shampoos for irritated scalps and dandruff etc. I use rehab and retread condititoner and my hair hasnt been irritated once and my scalp has cleared up also as the shampoo cleansed and detoxify the scalp. I just recently wash my hair with a different brand of shampoo and conditioner that wasnt chemiacal free and my dandruff came back. So it proves the Lush Shampoos and Conditioners work. They are worth a try if you havent tried them as you have tried everything else.Let me know if you try them and they worked for youIs anyone knows which shampoo is good for dandruff and dry hair?
Head and shoulders is supposed to be good for dandruff. Once a week try oiling your hair with coconut or almond oil - its a good conditioner.
try head %26amp; shoulders, they have new formulas out now. If that doesn't work try Redken's dandruff formula

i have dry and bushy hair and i want smooth hair but i dont know what to use. so far iv been usin dry ends serum bt i havent noticed a difference than how it was before. will moisture shampoo help and anything else? Is moisture shampoo the best for dry frizzy hair?
I鈥檇 recommend re-evaluating your use of shampoo, as shampoo is nothing more than perfumed detergent it cleans out the dirt in your hair but is very harsh and also takes the natural oils that make your hair shiny, soft and strong 鈥?thus why you have conditioner, because shampoo is harsh enough to strip natural oils from your hair conditioner replenishes them but because the oils from the conditioner don't last and need to be replenished. The oils in your hair come naturally out of your scalp to nourish it, stripping them away causes damage and breakage over time. Not to mention the harmful ingredients contained within shampoo such as mineral oil, SLS and SLFS (sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate) and other chemical ingredients that can cause damage to the health of you and your hair.

If your hair is dry, damaged, frizzy or just not up to it's best then the best way to get it healthy is to allow your natural oils to nourish it rather than continue to strip these away using shampoos - no matter how good the conditioner nothing replaces natures own oils for healthy strong and shiny hair.

This is why the 鈥榥o-poo鈥?method is becoming so popular, because you dump shampoo it means this method makes your hair much healthier, easier to manage, grows faster and will stay clean much longer even to the point where it will never be greasy again 鈥?using shampoo strips oils so your scalp overcompensates for the oils it has lost it means you need to wash your hair more often. For the no-poo method you use one tablespoon baking soda to one cup of warm water, apply to your roots working it in and let it sit for a minute, this stimulates blood flow, cleans pores and gets off built-up grime, then rinse with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to one cup water, let it sit for a minute and then rinse out. Seriously, don't be scared to try it, there is a transition period but there are things that can be done to help that, and you are guaranteed healthier, shinier and stronger hair from using this method.

    Dry shampoo spray for hair?

I have read in magazines about this hair spray that is dry shampoo. You spray it on your roots so that is gets rid of some greasiness when you don't have time to wash your hair. Does it work? I get mine at Sally's. It works just okay, it still makes your hair feel a little weird, but it helps for a quick fix!Dry shampoo spray for hair?
yes it works, no its not expensive. its about 拢1.50 in the uk, thats about $3 i think ??

anyway, it is basically a powdery spreay that you put on your roots. work it in with your fingers, and it absorbs all the grease, then brush it out and bye bye dry shampoo taking the grease with it!

it comes in diff scents, like tropical too, so the smell isnt unpleasant.

it should tide you over for an additional day if you sleep in or whatever

    hope this helps.
    1. It is quite cheap, about $2 or $3 a can.

    2. It does work, but it takes the shine out of your hair so it can look quite dull, and if yor hair is dark it leaves a grey mark behind, so the loighter your hair, the better it works.

So... it is good for a quick fix when you don't have time!

But, i'm in England so not sure where you can get it from. Over here they sell it in chemists or big supermarkets so probably somewhere like wal mart.

    Hope that helps.
I love it, it works really well when you don't have time to wash and style your hair. In England it is pretty cheap. Around 拢2. So would imagine it to be about $4-$5.

You should be able to buy it in most supermarkets like Wal-Mart or your local drugstore.

The one I use is called Batiste Dry Shampoo.

After i wash my hair with Gillette shampoo and conditioner or any other product my hair gets dry and look bad?

what should i do change products or do something else i am looking for that model look for men you see on tv with that nice hair it looks like they don't use gel or any thing they just leave it to dry. After i wash my hair with Gillette shampoo and conditioner or any other product my hair gets dry and look bad?
If you have dry hair, then maybe you can try some leave-in conditioner.

There are lots of brands and you usually just rub it into your hair when its wet or dry - it moisturizes your hair and protects against split ends.

Go to a salon, see what they suggest and ask what products they recommend. After i wash my hair with Gillette shampoo and conditioner or any other product my hair gets dry and look bad?
Go to your local salon and see what they think. There not always trying to make money. I go to Sally's Beauty Salon its a store where they have tons of hair products that actual hairstylist by their stuff!

  • Has anyone ever tried dry shampoo?

Yes, it's great if you have oily hair, or don't want to wash your hair, or have dyed hair and don't want it to fade. Just spray it in or dust it in (comes in powder and spray form) and comb/brush it out, then go over your hair with a towel or something if you like.Has anyone ever tried dry shampoo?
    yepp, nothing happens!!!

    Dry shampoo spray for hair?

I have read in magazines about this hair spray that is dry shampoo. You spray it on your roots so that is gets rid of some greasiness when you don't have time to wash your hair. Does it work? Is it expensive?Where do I find it? Can I get it at like Wal-Mart ot Target? If it's too expensive, what else works? I've tried baby powder, but I don't like how it makes my hair feel.Dry shampoo spray for hair?

What shampoo and conditioner should i use if i have long, thick, and dry hair?

Humectress by Nexxus. What shampoo and conditioner should i use if i have long, thick, and dry hair?
    Dove intense moisture shampoo/conditioner

    Herbal Essences hello hydration shampoo/conditioner

Biolage shampoo/conditioner and Biolage ultra hydrating balm

Redken shampoo/conditionerWhat shampoo and conditioner should i use if i have long, thick, and dry hair?
Use a moisturing shampoo and conditioner, preferably from a beauty store. I have very long hair and to keep the ends from drying out I only shampoo the top and just let it rinse through the rest and condition every day, especially the ends.. I get lots of compliments on my hair, it is very healthy and completely natural.

K-Pak is a wonderful product line, although on the pricey side. Their Deep Penetrating Reconstructor is AWESOME. Quite expensive, worth every penny and more, use it about once a week. If you have a friend in the beauty industry, see if she can get it for you at a discount so you can at least try it. That's how I got turned on to it, my sister in law owns a salon. Even my macho brothers love the K-Pak line.
I use Pantene or Mane and Tail. Suave fried my hair.
My hair is the same way and I use Pantene. It hydrates my hair. It makes my locks look healthy and shiny. Pantene also reduces some of the thickness.
Umm. If you don't care about price Nioxin is like the best shampoo and conditioner in the world. If you use it, use their deep conditioner for dry hair. Otherwise, use Biolage they are pretty cheap like 20 dollars. HaVe Fun AnD GoOd lUcK!
i have long thick dry hair and i use herbol esesence drama clean it works trust me
enjoy (only available in CA and AZ) if you don't live there then try matrix
I know that a lot of people have said Pantene, but ask any professional hair stylist and they will tell you that it's the WORST drugstore brand to use! It makes your hair look good because it coats it will crap. It really isn't good for your hair at all. I have long, thick, curly hair (which means it needs all of the moisture it can get!) and use Pureology. It's the BEST! You can only get it at some salons and at most beauty supply stores (not Sallys). It's a little pricey...so splurge on the big bottle ($50)...it will last you a very long time. I would also suggest using a clarifying shampoo once a week. I promise you'll love it....sulfar free, 100% vegan, keeps your color looking great, etc.
I say Nexxuss Hydrante Shampoor and Either Nexxuss Humectress Conditioner or Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm.
pantene is agoodone or even the mane and tail shampoos and conditioners they have it in with other soaps for people.
use pert plus!!! or head and shoulders, it gives a nice smell sweety.
Sleek Look by Matrix is pretty good, but you'd have to get it from a salon, hqhair.com sell it but the postage is pretty steep.
You should definitely use GarneFruitis it is good for your kind of thick long hair. I should know my mom works at a salon.
    i dont think it matters
Redken All Soft Avocado Shampoo and Conditioner. If you hair needs extra moisturizing, then they have a Heavy Cream in the Avocado line--it smells awesome and leaves your hair feeling great.
Any kind that doesnt test on animals!! ;O)
Allsoft by Redken, it is amazing stuff!
I have the same kind of hair, so I use Dove Intense Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner.
    Pantene--moisturizing
mane and tail works great for dry hair. it was made for horses so its made for thick hair.
For Long Thick Dry Hair Care :

Too many coloring jobs or perms can weaken your hair structure and cause damage, as can excessive exposure to heat from hairdryers, curling irons, heated rollers and other electric styling tools. Being out in the sun or swimming in a chlorinated pool can also deplete hair of its life. To restore your hair to its natural splendor, try following these techniques:

Use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners designed for dry, damaged hair.

Cut down on the use of hairdryers, curling irons, etc.

Change your appliances regularly as the internal thermostats that regulate heat eventually break down.

When hitting the beach or going for a swim, use a leave-in product to protect your hair.

Treat your hair with a deep conditioner once a week.

Many people with thick hair complain of having an itchy, flaky scalp. This is usually caused by insufficient rinsing after cleaning your hair: the shampoo soap leaves a residue which is sealed onto the scalp by the conditioner, causing dryness and irritation. Make sure you rinse your hair longer after shampooing to avoid this problem. Other tips for making thick hair look its healthiest include:

Keep your hair either short or long - short haircuts keep thick hair under control, while the weight of long hair holds it down. Mid-length cuts on thick hair tend to make the hair stick out at the ends.

Cut your hair in layer to relieve some of the bulk. Don't cut short layers or pieces too short or they will add extra volume.

If you color your hair, opt for semi-permanent colors which don't have the same thickening effect as permanent colors and bleach.

Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo --For Long thick Dry Hair
Any kind of conditioner that is very thick and creamy like pantene. Avoid off brand conditioners. Shampoos basically all work the same. You want a shampoo that lathers well and rinses out good. Shampoos like cost less like suave will or VO5 will be sufficient. However, avoid the store brands.
pantene pro v restoratives works wonders
    I use tressemme %26amp; I love it.
I use Herbal Essences. There are different shampoos and conditioners for different kinds of hair. My nickname may say Roger P but I am really a girl. I can't change it. I don't know why.
    Pantene - Smooth and Sleek. My hair type is the same as yours, and this conditioner/shampoo lays it down nicely, and makes it feel and look healthy and shiny. It also smells heavenly. %26lt;My hubby is always sniffing it, lol%26gt;
the redkins hair products are really good for my hair. since its winter, u should try the clear moisture shampoo and conditioner by them since it gets really dry this time of year

Which is the best shampoo for dry curly hair?

Actually, no shampoo at all is best for dry curly hair. It is best only to use conditioner.

Curly hair, in general, is dry hair simply due to the shape of each strand. Your scalp produces oil, but, because each hair strand is curly, it takes a long time for the oil from your scalp to travel down the coils of each curl. With straight hair, the oil travels in a straight shot; with curly, it's got to go winding down all the way to the end. With that said, you can probably get away with only using a good moisturizing conditioner.

But, if you must use shampoo, I would recommend that you at first apply the conditioner all over your hair from the roots to the ends and let it sit on your hair for 3 minutes while in the shower. After 3 minutes, use an extremely small amount (no more than a dime-sized amount) of shampoo and only massage into your scalp -- do not spread the shampoo lather into the rest of your hair. Rinse your hair and style as you normally would. (Although, I would recommend using a good leave-in conditioner, like Infusium, if you don't already do so.)

Some good conditioners, and corresponding shampoos, for curly hair are:

    Redken - $$

    Aveda - $$

The Body Shop Olive Glossing - $$

    Infusium - $

Loreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss - $ (currently my new favorite)Which is the best shampoo for dry curly hair?
John Frieda has a line of hair product for curly hair (shampoo, conditioner, serums........)Which is the best shampoo for dry curly hair?
    bed head.

it has a certain name, but i forget.
Don't listen to the morons that name commercial shampoos like Pantene and Head and shoulders. Use a good herbal shampoo which are usually more pricey but worth that extra price. Try the brand Herbal Essences. It's really good.
For dry hair use shampoo's that has egg and olive oil such as Sunsilk shampoo for dry and unmanagable hair b'coz i'm using that which really works for my hair.apply oil to ur scalp when u go to bed if not 1 hour prior to ur head bath which really works for dry hair.
    never use VO5

use head and shoulder or pantene
    green sunsilk de-frizz threesome
if you are black try pantene color line or dudleys products if you are a caucasian r mixed try pantene r garnier fructis also try john freida ,red kin, loreal or herbal essence
Head%26amp;Shoulders! Great For All Hair Types!
ask your hair stylist or maybe try reading the labels on the shampoo/conditioner
I love the new Pantene Ice Shine shampoo and use it with the soft %26amp; smooth conditioner. I always thought I needed shampoo specifically for curly hair, but none of those have done what the Pantene has for my hair.
