What is a good shampoo and conditioner for fine thin hair that is dry and frizzy?

i have horrible hair (i think its genetic); its really thin and dry out with frizz. is there any good shampoo and conditioners out there that would help? i was looking at the paul mitchell and Matrix biolage but not sure if it works so don't want to waste money on it. any suggestions would be helpful, thank you. What is a good shampoo and conditioner for fine thin hair that is dry and frizzy?
I think that the Matrix Biolage will weight your hair down. I would try the Matrix Amplify shampoo and conditioner. They have the shampoo for normal hair or colored hair. The shampoo and conditioner are formulated to work together to give you body and they also moisturize. They are for fine, thin hair. They will give you enough moisture to help with the frizz too. This conditioner will NOT weigh your hair down. It's great. What is a good shampoo and conditioner for fine thin hair that is dry and frizzy?
EEHh Emm. Pantene DOES NOT build up. I've used tons to know the facts and i have similar hair to that of our uninformed guest. The shampoo doesn't matter a Whole lot.. it just washes your hair getting ride of the oily feeling. Go ahead and pick up some Tresseme conditioner, and you won't regret it. Make sure you leave it in for 3-5 min. and wash it out all the way. Your hair will be lookin awesome in NO time. The frizz will be knocked down by this time but buy an anti-frizz shine serum as well. These products will Drastically help your hair/overall appearance. For shine serums I highly recommend Garnier fructus, Neutrogena, and citre shine. Go gettem tiger!!!
Aussie is the best for frizzy hair. Avoid pantene it builds up in your hair and makes it look dirty. I have really frizzy hair and i have found Aussie to be the best.
i have dry hair and i use herbal esslense sp? hello hydration and it works good. they also have ones for frizz
i 4get wat its called but its by dove....intence therapy or something like that...its in a dark blue bottle....good luck!!
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate-free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells absolutely awesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Duane Reade, Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond, Kroger, Jewel, Safeway, etc. You'll love it!!!

I also have fine hair. it's dry due to highlighting, highlighting, frosting, coloring, coloring, coloring, coloring, highlighting, and coloring again. Haha. that's just over the last 2 years. And i also straighten my hair 4 or 5 days out of the week.

my hair was really healthy, until the last time i dyed it. Then it got super dry and nasty and frizzy.

I was getting to the point where i could only shampoo every other day, and i'd have to use a deep conditoner that day and when I didn't shampoo. Even then it was nasty.

I seriously am in love (lol) with Dove Advanced care therapy shampoo and conditioner, for severely dry and damaged hair.

it doesn't leave nasty build up (Pantene is horrible.. absolutely horrible for that.. i used my friends shampoo once and my hair was horribly greasy the next morning. I didn't even use conditioner.)

And the brands you mentioned here aren't very good at all compared to dove.

The shampoo is thick and creamy, but still cleans. Then i swear the conditoner actually absorbs into my hair, so i have to use like twice as much as i normally do. Which is only the same amount of shampoo for me, but still. It's really thick too.

Since it puts moisture in, it makes my hair more volumized at the roots. Which is where i needed it.

After 5 days, your hair will be great :-)

It's good price, a little less than 5 dollars each.

You can also get a free sample from dove.com, but you can't really know unless you use it for a week or so.

:-)

hope this helped!

My hair is dry and frizzy. How do I make it sleek and shiny and less bushy? What shampoo do I use?

Currently I use this trader joes shampoo and conditioner. Im not sure if I should use garnier fructis sleek and shine. Either way, i am only allowed to use the trader joes conditioner lol.My hair is dry and frizzy. How do I make it sleek and shiny and less bushy? What shampoo do I use?
If you don't use the same shampoo and the same conditioner, it won't work effectively. My hair is dry and frizzy. How do I make it sleek and shiny and less bushy? What shampoo do I use?
well sounds like ur hair is getting really mess up.. mine was like that coz is curly and the whole gel spray and hair junk i used to use to keep it ';curly'; so i went to the beauty salon and this girl recomended me to use ';the wash'; bu paul mitchell and is the bomb! she told me that she couldnt promise me that my hair would look amazing with the first bottle used but hey i notice my hair starting getting curly and i lost the frizzy part which is the hardest in the 1st 2 weeks... its an amazing shampoo i love it its also not pricey.. its like 7 or 8 a bottlle.. and in the long run it will end uup cheaper because those $2 dollar shampoos u get at walmart and stuff end up ruining in ur hair.. u can get this shampoo only from beauty retailers such as sally's or beauty salons.. just keep in mind theres people who try to sell replicas so the one im talking about is a white round bottle with a green circle on the cap and also the shampoo is clear not whitish like the fake one.. u should try it.. it will make ur hair look shiny healthy and forget about frizz.. good luck oh by the way paul mitchell is all natural..
Go to a store and find ';De Frizz shampoo and conditionair for natural hair';.
why are you only allowed to use the trader joes conditioner??
any kind of shine spray should help

Does Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair work?

i have dry hair. can you please help me?Does Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair work?
Garnier has a great product line. I swear by the hair color..it's awesome. Just be sure you pick out the products that are specifically made for dry hair and viola...you'll probably fall in love with them and the price. Have fun!!Does Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair work?
different shampoos and conditioners work for different hair, tryi it see how ti tworks for u if it dont work try another shampoo for dry hair
It does for me. Remember to leave the conditioner on for 2-3 minutes and also apply a leave-in conditioner to damp hair once your out of the shower.
YEAH IT WORKS. U KNOW THERE IS THE NEW LONG AND STRONG SHAMPOO. and the garnier ultra doux conditioner. it works. but my tip is that the previous night message a little oil on ur head. then ur hair will not become dry and rough after shampoo.
personally i would try dove renewal shampoos or tresseme-- those are the best shampoos i've used and my hair is incredibly dry and damaged.
It works AWESOME!!!! it really helped me get more mostiure into my hair and it helped it stay that way too.
Garnier Fructis is great (I love their 3 minute hair deep conditioner), but why don't you try Dove for Dry/Damaged hair. The conditioner is really really thick - and anyone with dry hair knows... the thicker the conditioner - the better!

PS - if you have dry hair, try your best to air dry. Heat sucks the moisture out of hair.

I have dry hair. I condition daily and shampoo every other day, is that good?

Should I change this routine? What's a good shampoo and conditioner for dry hair? I have short straight black hair and I'm a guy. Thanks!I have dry hair. I condition daily and shampoo every other day, is that good?
Natural Treatments that actually work for all hair types!

MOISTURIZING TREATMENT:Try adding honey to your shampoo. It is one of the best moisturizers for your hair and it is natural. Just put in 1 tablespoon of honey with 2 tablespoons of shampoo. NOURISHING HAIR TREATMENT: An overripe avocado also can help. Mash it up, and blend through dry hair. Leave mixture on for 30 minutes then shampoo thoroughly. DAMAGED HAIR TREATMENT: Mash a ripe banana and mix a few drops of almond oil. Massage entire head and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. SCALP CLEANERS: Mix 1/4 cup of mouthwash, 1 cup of water and apply to scalp. Use AFTER shampooing. Another scalp cleaner is putting mixing some Baking Soda and water and apply to the scalp. Wait for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and Condition. I love using the honey treatment personally and if I ever feel build up of wax from using hair products I use the Baking Soda but something that really works is Tresemme deep cleaning for your hair. Sources listed below.I have dry hair. I condition daily and shampoo every other day, is that good?
If your hair is super dry, you are most likey shampooing too much. Try every other day and see how it works.
well i doubt that conditioning it every day is good for it , so i recommend head and shoulders it helps moisterize you're hair and if you have a scalp condition it helps too. well this is coming from a girl , but head and shoulders is for girls and guys!
try shampooing less. Try a oil product. If you have strait hair use sunsilk straiten up cream. I use it. It's like lotion for your hair! If your hair isn't strait I think they have the same thing for different hair styles.
try eavery other day it will the the grease set in instead or u washing it all thte time
whatever you are doing is good but if you oil your hair with olive oil once a week before washing then your hair will be smooth and silky... or else you can use hot oil treatment from VO5...
you shouldnt be conditioning without shampooing especially with dry hair.

google it and maybe you'll come up with some answers!

i think put shampoo and then conditioner.

and buy somee leave in conditioner and things like that.

Try Paul Mitchell super charged moisturizer. Also another good conditioner is Nexxus Ensure because of it's ph balance and you can use it as a leave in conditioner, if you use just a little, too much would make your hair look greasy. If you use a lot of hair spray or mousse in your hair it could be drying it out. Try not to use these products in excess for a little while and your hair will be in good shape before you know it. Also staying in the sun a lot dries out your hair. I take good care of my hair and try not to overdo on the mousse and hair spray. I get compliments on my hair all the time. My hair is long with blonde highlights which is normally kind of dry.

A good shampoo/conditioner for long, dry, mega thick hair?

Lately i've been using Neutrogena T-gel shampoo and conditioner for my hair since I have had some dandruff and itchy scalp problems but it's been drying my hair out. What's a good shampoo for long, dry, thick hair? I really want it bo like silky smooth, possible? And is there a way to cure the little fray aways on the tops and sides of hair? I hate those...A good shampoo/conditioner for long, dry, mega thick hair?
Hairapy Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner works very well with thick hair. It makes it soft and easier to care for. Below is a picture of the shampoo and conditioner. You can buy it at wal-mart. And those little fray aways ont he tops and sides of hair are called split ends. To reduce them, avoid devices which use heat, such as straighteners, blow dryers, and curling irons. Heat causes split ends. So try to stay away from the sun too! If you really want to get rid of them, soak in water and cut a few inches until they're gone! Good luck, hope this helps! :)

Is dry shampoo safe for coloured hair?

I use Lee Stafford dry shampoo and have coloured hair and it has never made any difference to the colour.

It contains talc which greys the hair a little but you rub this away anyway so the colour is the same as always. Is dry shampoo safe for coloured hair?
Yes it is safe for use, but if you have dark brown it will fade it. If you are BLEACHED blonde you will find it darkens it slightly, and if a bottle blonde it will slightly darken it.

BUT you asked is it safe.... YES!Is dry shampoo safe for coloured hair?
Its fades the colour, you need to use coloured hair shampoo the best stuff is the BED HEAD products it cost abit but it really is great the colour last so much longer.

I have dry, dull, frizzy, fly away hair. Whats the best conditioner and shampoo to use?

Also what about straightening things? Like what straightners are best for my hair type and what protection should i use?!?! Thanks guys in advace i seriously need your help!I have dry, dull, frizzy, fly away hair. Whats the best conditioner and shampoo to use?
John Frieda Frizz Ease range or the Weather Protection range.

But by far the best conditioner ever (i'm a hair product junkie)

is John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery. This is better than professional brands I have used and I always get comments on how good my hair smells when I've used this product.

As for straighteners I wouldn't use any brand other than ghd. As for protection I don't use heat protection sprays as I find they make my hair crispy when straightening (not what you want). So because heat styling takes so much moisture out of your hair you have to be sure to put plenty in before you start.

Wash with a moisturising shampoo and conditioner, spray in leave in conditioner to the lengths and ends (not the roots, you want to keep the volume). You should then put in serum to the hair which will protect from the heat and help bring out the shine in your hair as you style and straighten.

When using straighteners try not to go over the same areas again and again. Take your time and run the irons along sections no more than twice otherwise you'll just fry the hair %26amp; ruin it.

Good luck with the frizz reduction!I have dry, dull, frizzy, fly away hair. Whats the best conditioner and shampoo to use?
I have lots of friends who have this problem. Nexxus moisturizing shampoo and conditioner works really well for dry hair also look for a hair mask which you can use as often as once a week or more its really a use as needed item just like face masks and they work really well

for frizziness I've heard people say that frizz-ease serum works really well

also look into washing your hair every other day I've heard friends and doctors say this is better for hair since it lets the natural oils be produced instead of stripping them away every time you shampoo but best of luck!!

this website had some good advice as well about shampoo and conditioner basics etc:
try herbal esence or look for a dove shampoo specially for dry frizzy hair.for a straightener dont be afraid to spend a little extra money or else they wont work.at least make sure there is a thing to adust the temp.also try some leavi in condintior
You can try this. Beat an egg in a cup of milk. When it foams, rub it into the scalp.Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water.Carry out this routine twice a week for excellent results for dry damaged hair. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.
I wrapped my hair combed through(on dry)with carotino red palm oil, then washed normally.Nothings ever worked like it,it lasts a couple of washes, plus no chemicals.
Try use a leave in conditioner or go to your hairdressers and get a conditioning treatment its like an orgasm for your hair trust me!

Now they don't make hexocil what shampoo can i use instead for red itchy skin and dry flaky coat?

See your doctor. Get your coat dry cleaned. Now they don't make hexocil what shampoo can i use instead for red itchy skin and dry flaky coat?
Red itchy skin and dry flaky coat are symptoms of allergies, friend, and bathing is not the complete answer. If you truly want to help your dog, investigate and find out what it's allergic to.

Step 1: Check ear flaps, around the eyes, between the toes, and around the lips and bottom. If these are all red, itchy, and have a cobblestoned appearance, you are likely dealing with a food allergy. If the belly, groin and paws are itchy and red, you are probably looking at an environmental/contact allergy. If you can check off all of the above, your dog probably suffers from allergies to multiple sources.

Step 2: Narrow down your options. Talk to your vet about a prescription, limited ingredient diet for dogs with food allergies. Eliminate ALL other sources of food intake (including cookies, table scraps, even bones and chews) that do not have the same ingredients and nothing else. Give your dog a few weeks to respond to this, or until you can see a major difference in the ithchyness and appearance of the previous symptoms. At this point, you can begin introducing new ingredients to its diet, one by one, and monitor for allergic reactions.

For environmental allergies, talk to your vet about antihistamine therapy. This can be used in addition to limited ingredient diets to get the symptoms under control. Regular bathing with any hypoallergenic shampoo (once or twice a week), and daily cleaning of the feet and belly (Johnson's baby wipes work great for routine cleaning) to remove allergens from the skin and face are a great way to minimize exposure, while the antihistamines do the rest of the work.

Getting your dog's allergies under control will not only help eliminate the irritated skin, but will also help avoid nasty skin infections, ear infections and injuries, eye and mouth injuries from rubbing the face.
The simple answer is Malaseb. The more complicated answer is to find what's causing the problem, and quickly. See a vet who can do blood and scraping works to determine the cause then take it from there.
Dr Johns Medicated shampoo works really well
Malaseb is a fairly good alternative.
Please take your pet to the vet to find the cause of the red itchy skin and dry flaky coat. Then follow his/her recommendations.

What shampoo is recommended for oily scalp with dandruff, and dry, frizzy hair?

My hair is fine %26amp; frizzy and my scalp gets real oily if I do not wash it for a day. I also lose a lot of hair =( Currently, I am using Head %26amp; Shoulders. What shampoo is recommended for oily scalp with dandruff, and dry, frizzy hair?
You have naturally curly hair, right?

    EDIT:

Curly hair is the result of your hair being naturally dry.

Shampoos contain a lathering agent called sodium laureth sulfate. I'm guessing by it's chemical structure, it's designed to react with tap water (I think the sodium binds with the chlorine in tap water to form a salt--in this case, NaCl/table salt). With curly hair, it dehydrates it to an extreme. It's also bad for your scalp--dehydrates that, too.

It's generally the primary culprit. Along side with alcohols.

Your best course of action is to keep your scalp moist and to brush regularly. I'm a dude and I have long way hair, I've had it dread before, too. So I've problems with the dry hair thing.

You can go all natural or get a non-lathering cleanser--try to make sure it doesn't have Sodium L. Sulfate. If you do use it, make sure you use a conditioner to compensate for the dehydrative effects of the Sodium L. Sulfate. I comb the ingredients while I'm showering to evenly incorporate it into my hair.

I've also used lotion on the scalp, too. Scalp IS skin, so why shouldn't you treat it like normal skin on your body.

Natural oils on your hair isn't a bad thing. But it's a common signs--seems to point to lack of water.

    EDIT 2:

Dandruff issue: that's not technically traditional dandruff. Dandruff has to be dry skin, that's just exfoliated skin.

If your primary issue is dandruff, comb your hair in the shower while lathering. Be sure to make consistent contact w/ scalp using the teeth of the comb.

Rinse while brushing it out. What shampoo is recommended for oily scalp with dandruff, and dry, frizzy hair?

What shampoo can I use that won't dry out my hair?

I am a guy who doesn't shampoo his hair very often because when I do, it gets wicked puffy. It is unbearable. I've tried cheap and expensive shampoos, and I use conditioners as well. A friend told me once that it was best to let your hair ';get in it's own oils'; and I think he's right because it's not until like 3-4 days after shampooing that it looks like it should and is not puffy. There has to some shampoo/conditioner combo that will not do this to my hair. Help? What shampoo can I use that won't dry out my hair?
Try the Kerastase Nutritive Line. It is made for very dry hair. Kerastase makes the best hair products and all of their shampoos and conditioners are extremely hydrating. It is really pricey (around $22 for shampoo and $30 for conditioner), but try it and you will love it!

How do you dry longish mens hair? Any recommendations for shampoo etc?

    Hi,

I've got longish hair (covers ears, fairly long at back, very 70s looking), however I have a bit of trouble when I come to drying it after I've come out of the shower, It always frizzes on the sides, and looks rubbish as a consequence. I have tryed both towel drying and a hairdryer.

Anyone have longish hair, and if so any recommendations and what shampoo/conditioner do you use? (products that are sold in the UK)

Any help would be great! ThanksHow do you dry longish mens hair? Any recommendations for shampoo etc?
You can use a good moisturizing shampoo (doesn't matter if women use it too), a good conditioner, and either dry it naturally or using low heat or no heat (like a fan) and if it frizzes, there are products that you can use on your hair that would calm the frizzes down. I believe you put it on (spray or gel) before you dry your hair.

Good luck, couldn't give you names as I don't know if they have the same products in the UK. I'm in the States. How do you dry longish mens hair? Any recommendations for shampoo etc?
Im not in the uk so I can not suggest a brand of shampoo for you..

As for the hair problems why not get it cut? The 70's went out along time ago lol..

You can buy hair products that stop the frizz.. Hairdryers automatically dry your hair out but if you insist on using one have it set on a low temp.

    Good luck with your hair

    :D
try trimming it, thats were the frizz is coming from.

I have a dry scalp apparently, does any commercial shampoo/conditioner actually work?

whenever i get my hair cut, the stylist always compliments me on how healthy my hair looks. which is weird bc i have a really dry scalp! i've been using herbal essences ';hello hydration'; for a while but nothing has changed. i'm thinking about switching to their ';no flakin' way'; which is for dandruff--but i've just got a dry scalp...not dandruff. does this all mean i need an intense moisturizer or an anti-dandruff...or is there really no difference between the two?I have a dry scalp apparently, does any commercial shampoo/conditioner actually work?
danruff shampoos will dry ur scalp even more. They have a gel by Neurogena (I don't remember the name sorry). But my doctor recommended it. You can find it any local department store...I have a dry scalp apparently, does any commercial shampoo/conditioner actually work?

Dandruff is just an excess of flaking skin, not a disease. Try something like Head and Shoulders.

At your local Wal-Mart.Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo - where can i buy it??
I have bought it at Lloyds pharmacy.
Superdrug, Boots, Lloyds Chemists, any local high street chemist should stock it.
You might try a beauty supply house, or a medical supply that sells wheelchairs, canes etc.
I bought mine in Superdrug. I'm pretty sure it's a standard line for their stores, so if there's one near you, I'd try it!
you can also buy it on ebay, amazon, shopping.com and dealtime.
Any chemist, such as Boots should stock it.
yeah ive seen it in boots, superdrug, semi-chem and sallys. :)

  • Herb Doctor Dry Shampoo...? I have a 2 month old Chihuahua?

and first puppy. What is the best way to keep my doggie clean. He is indoors right now since its cold and he is so little...but any input?Herb Doctor Dry Shampoo...? I have a 2 month old Chihuahua?
If your puppy is inside, there shouldn't be much of a need to be making him any cleaner. Giving too many baths can create dry skin problems. If he is smelly or dirty, you can go to a pet store and buy a dog shampoo. Again, don't bath him too often. If he is a long haired chihuahua, then you may want to take him to a groomers for them to do it for you.

I haven't heard of Herb Doctor Dry Shampoo, but if it is a natural shampoo, it will probably be good. Ask a vet or pet store owners what they think of the product before using it.

What is the best type of shampoo to use when you have dry hair?

the best type of shampoo is the ones that are herbal. don'y use anything with too much chemicals. chemicals will totally kill your hair. and i'll let you in a little secret. you may think that this is weird but DON'T! i repeat... DON'T use hair conditioner. yes, using hair conditioner can and will totally fry your hair. it works like a hot hair iron only liquid in form. just try shampooing your hair with herbal shampoo, i suggest ginseng, it can do wonders to your hair and it smells great!!! i've been using it since i started high school and my hair has never looked better. this is a promise. try it and good luck!!!What is the best type of shampoo to use when you have dry hair?
either matrix biolage or redken all-soft, both work very wellWhat is the best type of shampoo to use when you have dry hair?
use one with good moisturizers in it like pantene pro v(my fave) or garnier frutics for dry/damaged hair. only use this though if your hair has been dry and breaking other wise use pantene. also make sure you conditioners are deep ones. and it doesn't hurt to do a rinse out one followed by a leave in one. and using all conditioners by pantene are good too. always try pantene products in the full set.
It depends on your hair type. If Afro-american use Avlon Keracare (1st-shampoo,Hydrating shampoo, then Humecto conditioner with olive oil mixed in.) Use in that order. If Caucasian use Nexxus products or pantene.
    herbal essences
Pantene Pro-V (any of their many brands - whichever suits your type of hair)...I used it on my flat boring hair and it was immediately healthier inside and out and it looked cleaner and shinier.

Whatever you do don't use Garnier Fructis, that stuff is overrated.
I have naturally curly hair that is very fine= dry and frizzy.

I switch between Pantene and Dove products. Pantene coats your hair with a light wax-like stuff. This seals in moisture but can weigh down hair. So I also use Dove. Dove is really light and my hair sucks up the stuff. The residue from the pantene remains in my hair so it's not frizzy but switching often keeps it light and bouncy.

I get compliments on my curls just about daily. Oh, that fiddle fiddle about not using conditioner- she doesn't have dry hair. If I didn't use conditioner, my hair would be outta control!!!
use a moisturizing shampoo any kind is good as long as it says moisturizing
    dove it cant be beat
insted of your normal shampoo...try this...1 egg and 2 tablespoons of mayo...plus your regular shampoo...it works wonders...
I like Biolage too, and Redken is good. These two companies have been around for a long time and know their stuff!
Biolage--- it is the best and very little goes a long way. Also, use Kendra for conditioner.
Shampoos usually will contain one of two detergents-one is Ammonium Laurel sulfate and Sodium Laurel sulfate...try not to use a product that has both, that will really strip your hair of moisture.
    TREsemme' is the best shampoo!!!

Whats the best shampoo/conditioner for dry color treated hair?

does anyone have any good suggestions?Whats the best shampoo/conditioner for dry color treated hair?
garnier fructise or sunsilk, they have both brands everywhere(mostly) and i use both, and they work great.Whats the best shampoo/conditioner for dry color treated hair?
JOICO COLOR ASSURE this has made my hair soft, shiny, and so healthy and the color looks so good also it smells great
    redkin

    for color treated hair...

it makes ur hair keep ur color...thats what i use..(i got highlights about 2 months ago)...it works
This product is made by Matrix. It's part of their ';hydratherapie'; line. The shampoo is: Biolage Hydrating Shampoo and the conditioner is: Biolage Conditioning Balm.

I have hair down to my thighs and I tried putting professional highlights in it. The woman pretty much made them too light, so I went back the next day. She toned them down and accidentally left some blond patches in a pretty obvious spot, so I had to buy some dye and put it all over my hair once again to make it all blend. This means I chemically treated my hair 3 times within a 2-day period, so you see...it was a lot of damage to such long, healthy untouched (for 9 years) hair. These products have made my hair look and feel healthy and manageable again, considering the damage that was done. I don't think I'll get it back to 100% health in a long time, but they did help a great deal.
Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, and Redken Heavy Cream deep conditioner.
i like garnier fructise for dry damaged hair

What is the best dry shampoo? rene furterer, oscar blandie, batiste or psst?

i've been using rene furterer. works great but is expensive and doesn't seem there was enough in the bottle for more than 5-7 applications. anyone have any thoughts? What is the best dry shampoo? rene furterer, oscar blandie, batiste or psst?
Psst! has been around FOREVER and it still works for me quite well! I haven't tried the other brands you mentioned, but I still like the results I get with Psst!

Best shampoo for dandruff or dry skin?

My Boston Terrier has horrible dandruff and I do not know what shampoo to use, any ideas?Best shampoo for dandruff or dry skin?
Tea Tree Private Reserve Shampoo is a good one to use. They also have a conditioner . There are a variety of medicated dog shampoos out there for dandruff and dry skin. I prefer to use the ones with the most natural ingredients as they are not as harsh on a dogs skin.

Follow the instructions on the back of the bottle. Always rinse the dogs skin throughly with warm water, making sure you get out all of the shampoo . Afterwards dry him off well. Since it's getting near the winter season you may just try giving your dog a bath once a month. This will help the dog's skin to retain natural oils which keep dandruff under control (make sure you brush him regularly to distrubute the skin's natural oils). Also something someone mentioned above was changing the dogs food. Some generic foods do not provide the full amount of vitamins ,minerals and fats that your dog needs in order to maintain a healthy skin. Switching to a high quality name brand food will help eliminate the problem.Best shampoo for dandruff or dry skin?
Ask your vet. I would use Nutragena sparingly.
it is most likely being caused by the food you are feeding.

getting her on a holistic food %26amp; add some omega fatty acids for awhile will make a huge difference. you can pm me for more info
Tea tree oil or salicylic acid.

If it's really bad, you can try coal tar.

Oatmeal isn't strong enough for bad dandruff, and never use human shampoo on a dog.
a vet or your pet shop will recommend one

we used to give our dog a spoonfull of margarine mixed into her food as the oils in the marg helped her dry skin and made her coat shine

  • What is a good shampoo and conditioner to use for colored treated hair or dry hair?

I heard that pantene is the worst for your hair and also suave. Currently i use aussie shampoo and conditioner and that works good for my hair but i was wondering what other product is good. What is a good shampoo and conditioner to use for colored treated hair or dry hair?
Anything with Alcohol is bad as it drys out your hair

Usually natural or beauty salon shampoos are the best

Paul Mitchell! What is a good shampoo and conditioner to use for colored treated hair or dry hair?
Pantene and Suave don't work well.

Dove works really well and makes your hair super soft. They have a special shampoo and conditioner made for color treated hair. It eliminates frizz, makes your hair shiny, protects your color, and repairs damage. I would really recommend Dove.

    Good luck!
why don't you try some products from the john frieda color-care lines (Such as sheer blonde and brilliant brunete) to moisturize your hair while maintaining your color
    garnier
Now, I have dry hair and I use Design Essentials hair products. They have a great line. It really works well on afro american hair but ask your stylist whats best for you to use between visits.
I like the Herbal Essences line from Clairol for colored hair. I have fine hair and have trouble finding one for both.
Go to your salon and buy the Biolage products. I use them, and my daughter uses them. She's 10 and has naturally curly hair, but it gets very dry on the ends if she uses anything other than Biolage. My hair is very wavy, naturally, and I have the same problem if I don't use the Biolage products! The shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner makes my hair so amazingly soft and shiny.
You need to use a professional line. I would recommend Aveda. The Sap Moss shampoo and conditioner. It's very moisturizing and won't damage your color. It can be a little pricey, but it's worth it. Trust me. Just check it out. A little goes a long way so it should last you a while.
Paul Mitchell's Color line is really nice, it is all I use. It is worth the price because you keep your color and your hair feels great and doesn't dry out.

What is the best shampoo to use on thick, dry hair?

i use sunsilk it comes in a pink bottle and it hydrates my hair and prevents split ends its greatWhat is the best shampoo to use on thick, dry hair?
Treseme. Especially the conditioner, it gives hair a lot of moisture.

If you have greasy roots and dry ends what kind of shampoo should you use?

Like--greasy at the top half and the bottom half is dryy (long hair)If you have greasy roots and dry ends what kind of shampoo should you use?
you should wash them with vinegar every once a week. then any regular shampoo. atleast once a month, apply mayonnaise to your hair and leave for 1 hour and then wash. it'd make your hair silky smooth and strong coz it has egg, vinegar and creamIf you have greasy roots and dry ends what kind of shampoo should you use?
Try putting special powder for your hair and massage it in your roots. Many people use this when they don't have time to wash their hair, but it looks greasy. As for the bottom part of your hair that is dry, condition it, a lot. BUT BEWARE OF CONDITIONING YOUR ROOTS. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
evidentally, ya just need a trim;; %26amp; watch what heating mechanisms you use on your hair, make sure you use them the right way %26amp; with the right products;; take a trip to your local salon %26amp; see what they can do, then learn from it;; it's not the shampoo; it may partially be how you apply conditioner, keep it away from your scalp for now
Before you try any fancy, expensive shampoos, try using less conditioner at the roots, and more at the ends. I had the same problem and I just used less conditioner and my hair was less greasy.
Aussie! It works! And it smells great! simple, easy, and not hurting ur wallet!

What is a really good Shampoo and Conditioner for color treated and dry hair?

Dove. They have special shampoos and conditioners just for color treated hair. What is a really good Shampoo and Conditioner for color treated and dry hair?
try the professional brands like john frieda, for color treated hairWhat is a really good Shampoo and Conditioner for color treated and dry hair?
Kerastae chroma protect, only at fine salons or try biolage
you should try thermasilk moisture infusing shampoo and conditioner
herbal essence for color treated and dry hair. duhh
    pantene pro-v
ok, i read the other answers, and i would have to say that garnier fructiesse has been the best for me so far. it leaves my hair really soft!!!
Paul Mitchell and/or Biolage works best for me
I find that it's best to use hot oil treatments occasionaly as coloured hair can be dry and dull from the strong chemicals in products such as Loreal/

Keratse are a liuttle expensive but really good, invest in their intense hair conditioner which really works on dry listless hair.
I love the Loreal Vive for color treated hair, and they make a conditioner that's incredible for dry hair!
Alberto VO5's Passion Fruit shampoo and conditioner.

But the best is Tres' Semme. It makes your hair soft and manageable while giving your hair blinding luster.
try GARNIER fructies fortifying shampoo for colored hair, you simply love that product
I would try Dove Shampoo. I color my hair and it seems as if thats the only shampoo thats works well on me.
A Product called ';Nixiom'; it's expensive but really works they have shampoo and conditioner and a whole entire line of other great products.
Hmmm... I have the same problem as you. I suggest using Dove, Pantene or Garnier Fructis. Instead of focusing on smells, they focus on making your hair into good shape. Avoid using Loreal and Herbal Essences, too much chemicals in them that damage your hair severley.

As a tip, change your shampoo/conditioner daily, once you use it too often it doesn't work well anymore, because your hair is so used to it.

    I suggest doing

1 month Dove, next Pantene, next Garnier Fructis, then Dove and so on...

Good luck on figuring out the ideal shampoo/conditioner!

    =)

Does anyone know a shampoo that cleans your hair without getting it oily or dry?

I need a simple shampoo that just cleans my hair %26amp; thats all.Does anyone know a shampoo that cleans your hair without getting it oily or dry?
pantene and herbal essences. both work great. you can get them for a specific hair type or just Pantene's ';classic clean';Does anyone know a shampoo that cleans your hair without getting it oily or dry?
I use Garnier Fuctis. I use to switch shampoos everytime they ran out looking for one that didn't leave my hair all heavy and oily. I've used this one for over a year. I love it!! Don't use a lot. Just a squirt the size of a quarter is enough for my long thick hair. Just apply to the roots and massage through your scalp and then let it run down the rest of your hair to get it clean. If you use conditioner then just apply to the ends, start like 3 inches from your scalp and smooth it through. Conditioner can make your scalp oily and gross. Rinse the conditioner out with cool water it will be super shiny and easy to brush.

    Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner.

You can buy it at the walmart salons.

I use aussie moist. and it doesnt make my hair oily or dry. Aussie also has a lot of other different kids of shampoo such as aussie sun and shine and many more. hope this helps.
You could just use conditioner after.

honestly i think that you should use conditioner as well as shampoo, because shampooo always makes your hair feel dryed out, no matter what... and then it is a pain to brush and comb it afterwards.... try useing conditioner...

I also have very dry hair and am often quick to grab the shampoos that are expensive and look cool, that make claims of no more frizz, or moisture rich. And, for the most part, I am very dissappointed with the results. Pantene has NEVER worked for my hair, along with redken, paul mitchell etc. What has been working for me? you ask. DOVE! It has really been awesome. It is Dove Moisturizing Shampoo and Dove Moisturizing Conditioner. I have dry, frizzy, wavy hair, but when I use Dove and follow with a mousse after my shower, my hair is not as frizzy and does not dry out as quick. Also, frequent trimmings help.
    biolage hydrath茅rapie ...its wonderful!!
Garnier Fructis or Aussie works well i use the entire line of garnier fructis and my hair is so soft.
Neutrogena Triple Moisyure Line. It smells good too!!!
I too have dry hair. I bought Loriel(or whatever) for dry, frizzy hair. It works really good at leaves your hair soft and smelling really good.
use blue sunsilk for poofy hair. head and shoulders for dry or frizzy hair is also very good. u can also use these creams and sprays for frizzy and dry hair from dove and loreal.

yes i use dry shampoo when i havent got time to wash my hair! baptise do a good one they sell it i ckemists, home and bargain and supermarkets in uk. its in a green tin and costs about 3 pound, but lasts for ages.

its basically just talc in a tin! you spray it on your roots and it dries up the grease, dont spray it too close to your head about 10cm away, i have been using it for several years nothing better than freshly washed hair but for emergencies this is a life saver!
Bastite it comes in regular or tropical its really good and not expensive either

but i'd just take some in a little tub like a camera film case.

it dosnt really matter if your hair dose get dirty your camping!
Years ago talcum powder was used and worked ok.
If you have greasy hair and you cant wash it, you could use dry shampoo you spray it all over wait a min then brush it out I wouldnt say it cleans the hair just soaks up the grease really, I used it once but hairdresser moaned at me not to keep using it which I didnt but for a one off it should fine. I thinks its called bristows or something beginning with B and its in a green can, thats the only make I can think of.
If you do decide to buy a dry shampoo, test it and make sure it works before you go to avoid disappointment!

I do quite a lot of camping in the summer with a voluntary organisation, but I've not yet found a dry shampoo that works well on my hair. If the weather's hot / rainy, or if you're cooking over open fires, I'd say you're probably better off just concentrating on having fun, and booking some serious pampering shower / bath time when you get back. If it's for a D of E expedition, you probably won't have time to do much, and if you're in the back of beyond, who's really going to mind if your hair looks a bit greasy? Chances are, they'll look the same unless they're bald or nearly so.
lee stafford dry shampoo which is lke 4.99 -very good

Baby poweder for oily hair vs. dry shampoo?

Which one works best? Does the baby powder thing really work? Any suggestions for a good (affordable) dry shampoo?Baby poweder for oily hair vs. dry shampoo?
I dye my hair constantly so my hair is always a rainbow of colors. Now its Black white purple and navy so i dont wash my hair everyday because the colors fade and tint my bleached white stripes. Also my hair is super fried because i bleached it from my natural black to paper white (think 6 hours of heated bleaching over a 2 week period) I personally dont like most dry shampoos because they tend to make your hair smell funny or are ridiculously over priced. I ALWAYS ALWAYS use baby powder. Just sprinkle some starting on the underside of your hair give your hair a shake then brush it out. it doesnt make my hair turn white, and you cant tell that i used baby powder over regualr shampoo. I HIGHLY recommend it. just dont go overboard on the babypowder. ALSO babypowder is safe enough to be used on the most frail of humans, newborn babies so it is safe for an adult.Baby poweder for oily hair vs. dry shampoo?
Don't use baby powder for oily hair. It contains talc, which can cause harm to your lungs if you accidentally inhale it. Cornstarch is safe and in my experience works a lot better. Just sprinkle it over the greasy parts and leave it in for 10 minutes so it can soak up the oil.
baby powder works! put some on your hand rub them together and then pat your roots ( that's where the oily mess starts) and maybe do a couple hair flips and don't touch your hair so much haha

any anti-frizz serum will do you well.

you may want to use one of these hair products:

Herbal essences: none of your frizzness shampoo/conditioner

    or

    Moist Aussie Conditioner

dont touch your hair very much because the oils on your hands cause more frizz.

    garnier fructis, in my opinion

if you have time, i think air drying your hair is better for itWhat shampoo and conditioner is best for weak dry hair?
Using less shampoo works for me becuase shampoo dries out the hair. I go straight to conditioner to keep in some moisture or I just let my natural hair oils do the job. I never blowdry. I also like some of that after shower hair serum stuff.
garnier fructis, let it air dry and then put in sime kind of leave-in conditioner so that ur hair will stay healthy!

for dry hair i recommend either their new line Hydrlicious. Comes in all sorts of varieties. Ive never used it, but have extreme trust in all herbal essences, although ive heard the conditioner doesn't work that well for this kind...

So you could also try one from their original line Hello Hydration,

Comes with shampoo and conditioner are really cheap, but work great. Just read the back and it will tell you what it does and how to use it

    hope this helps
well my favourite is the pantene moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

but since you also have dry scalp, i recomend this head and shoulders moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

tip: don't apply conditioner on the roots of your hair, your hair wont have as much volume and will get greasyer faster.
i went to the Body shop and bought this shampoo for dry scalp, It has ginger in it. I am not sure what it is exactly called but they can help you out. The best thing about the store is that they carry products that have NO chemicals that are bad for the environment and bad for ourselves as well. I know its a bit pricey but they almost always have sales. I bought a regular bottle of VO5 and mixed 1/3 of the dry scalp shampoo with it so it can last A LOT longer.
I use Satinique Gentle Daily Hair Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner. It has made a big difference in my hair %26amp; scalp.
Try getting Head and Shoulders Dry Scalp shampoo and conditioner.

It really works! It starts at your roots to moisturize them, then it goes all the way down for a shiny soft healthy look. Hope this helps! xoxo
Try Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo and condition. Thats what i recommend for my clients
Head and shoulders, it cleans scalp but I don't think it can moisturize it. Try using some oils after you take a bath to your scalp.
Garnier Frutis Sleek and Shine or Dove Moisturizing

    What is dry shampoo?

I was reading somewhere that if you have extensions, you should use it. What exactly is it, how do you use it and does it cost alot? Where can I buy it?What is dry shampoo?
Dry shampoo is shampoo you use without water. It comes in a can or spray pump %26amp; you spray it in your hair to freshen and clean, it absorbs all the excess oils from your hair %26amp; scalp. You can buy a dry shampoo from boots for 拢1.99, but better still, you will find the very best products for keeping extensions clean %26amp; healthy in a afro-caribbean hair care shop if you have one near you, if you havent got one near you look in the yellow pages %26amp; dont worry you dont have to have afro-caribbean hair to use the products they cater for all extensions. What is dry shampoo?
i heard that its shampoo that soaks up excess oil in ur hair Report Abuse

If you use any kind of shampoo more than once a week than your hair will get dry.The best way to way to have your hair the way you want to is to shampoo once a week and condition twice a week.
I have used it. It comes in a can and you spray it on your hair then towel it and brush it out. Dry shampo is dry because you do not use water with it. It is a powder.

Here is one I like using http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>
i THINK IT IS POWDER STUFF THAT MAKE YOUR HAIR CLEAN. WITH EXTENTIONS WASHING YOUR HAIR CAN DAMAGE THEN AND R MAKE THEM FALL OUT.

Best shampoo for medium length light frizzy curly hair that's dry at tips and greasy at roots?

Right now i'm using sunsilk and matrix essentials. Got any tips? Btw i straighten every morning.Best shampoo for medium length light frizzy curly hair that's dry at tips and greasy at roots?
I have the exact same problem - dry tips and greasy roots. And I use Aussie Dual Personality Root Cleanser + Tip Mender Shampo and Conditioner. It actually works pretty well and makes your hair feel smoother than other shampoos I've used.

To prevent your hair from getting frizzy, don't dry your hair with a towel and use a bit of a serum that you can get that in any store that sells hair products. Also use a comb instead of a brush.

Also spray your hair with a smoothing spray to protect it from the heat.

i am looking for a dry(spray preferably) shampoo that is not too difficult to find and not too expensive.

What is the best shampoo and conditioner for split ends and/or dry/damaged hair?

My hair is highlighted and I have a ton of split ends and my hair is dry/damaged at best. It may look pretty on the outside, but underneath the surface..there are a ton of problems. What shampoo and conditioner do you recomend to me for my hair? What is the best shampoo and conditioner for split ends and/or dry/damaged hair?
right now this is the best!!!!!!

    http://www.samysalon.com/samy_products.h…

we all love it!!What is the best shampoo and conditioner for split ends and/or dry/damaged hair?
trust me hon and do ';sunsilk'; its great
    pantine pr0-v
I use Sunslilk. and there are so many types of sunsilk so match up the one that is closer to your haie\r problem.
Pureology!!! It is the absolute best shampoo/conditioner product you can buy.
Pantene. I use the shampoo and the conditioner separately not the combined one. It works great.
the best shampoos and conditioners are aussie, pantene, and garnier fructis. These all work better when using the same type of them for shampoo and conditioner. i reccomend aussie as the best though.
    one containing glue?
I believe Tres Semme works wonders! And it smells great too! Also, you could try trimming your hair every two months to keep it healthy!
the best thing to do is get the split ends cut off. but you need a shampoo and conditioner for split ends, and or dry damaged hair. it is made espacially for your type of hair. Sunsilk is excellant and Pantene . Treseme .
Go into the hair-care section of the store. You want to look at the products that are anywhere from $8.99 --$24.99. (Humectress, Redken, Biolage, Pantene, Garnier fructis...You just have to read and choose what's best for your hair type and texture. Is it curly/straight, oily/dry, natural/relaxed/colored...?)
    NEW VIVE IS THE BEST!

    TRUST ME!☺
    http://www.herbalessence.com/us/collecti…

    break's over or hello hydration
I use Creme of Nature detangling shampoo. Then I use Pro Therapy right after I wash my hair leave it in for 5 minutes and then wash it out. Then once I am out of the shower. I use oil hair moisturizer and then I style it and spray silk smooth oil sheen spray and then wet your hair a little while it is in the style comb over it and you are good to go.
First of all to keep your hair healthy you need to get a hair cut just little at the ends every month. Preferably in the time of new moon and not on Saturday Trust Me I am into astrology and I believe it's all connected. And Pantine ProV is the best choose specially the tube in Clairol color box it's especially designed for slip ends and keeps hair Strong . Thermosilk is also great!
    Panteen pro-V
Pantene by far is the best!
No pantene pro v..I see people on here recommend it like crazy and its really not good for your hair. It has alcohol..which is bad for dry hair...One shampoo that I noticed worked great on my hair is Joico Kpak. It works really well with chemicall damaged hair. Try to deep condition it with a leave in conditioner at least once a week if your hair is really damaged. Make sure to get your hair trimmed to get the damage off because nothing mends split ends. Also get a good leave in conditioner and serum, like Redken Anti snap which is good for damaged broken hair or Sebastian potion # 9. Good serum to use is Paul Mitchells super skinny.
    peanut oil
main %26amp; tail is for horses, but MAN!, that **** is good
    Dove shampoo/conditioner
Redken Allsoft shampoo and conditioner. I had bad chemically dried hair and allsoft really fixed it.

use patene because there is a special kind just for that
    aussie!

it smells really good and it makes my hair really silky.
Go to*** www.carolsdaughter.com*** they have great products at reasonable prices you should be able to find what your looking for there.
don't use pantene...it causes hair to snap because it has alot of protein. the same is true for joico. Protein reconstructors are great for your hair like once a month. Nixion products help stimulate the scalp and they also are offered for color treated or normal hair. I must also highly recommend Pureology's hydrate line. its expensive, but it is high concentrated so a little goes a looong way, its completely color safe, and 100% vegan!
Try sunsilk, it smells good, makes your hair grow healthy and they even have a special one for people who want straighter hair! Perfection, right? Hope I could help. Peace Out and Much Love

Is it bad to shampoo your hair while its dry?

I heard this thing about shampooing your hair dry, rinsing it out, and shampooing it again but wet this time. So, bad idea or not?Is it bad to shampoo your hair while its dry?
No!! Using a clarifying shampoo on dry hair helps create friction on your scalp to reduce build-up and flakes. It will feel weird but it is an effective way to use a clarifying shampoo. You don't need to shampoo after either. You should do this about once every week or 2. If you don't use a lot of hair products you can do it once a month. Good luck!Is it bad to shampoo your hair while its dry?
Thats called pre-pooing. And no, its not bad for your hair. :) Report Abuse

ummm i think it might be condition your hair dry then rinse it and condition again

shampooing your hair dries it out in the first place.

and dry hair is more absorbant , so it would definately not be a good idea.

and it would dry out your scalp and probably give you a dandruff problem you never had.

as well as stinging if you have sensitive skin
Honestly I don't know, that's a really good question. I mean I know that shampooing your hair everyday is bad for your hair so. But I'm stumped on that. Where did you hear it?
Naaa that's a total waste of time. Just shampoo it once and if that isn't good enough do it twice. Doing it dry won't have any result
For the feel, no. It'll make your hair feel smooth and luscious.

For the wellbeing/health of your hair, I think it might be bad.

    Your call.

sounds like a waste of shampoo

In particular, ';The Conditioner'; is my very favorite. It is a very light feeling, leave-in conditioner. Two thumbs up!
Try the loreal vive line of products. I use the shampoo and conditioner for dry hair and then finish with the serum. It is not at all drying. Oh, and I agree that Pantene is horrible stuff that will totally dry out and destroy your hair. Those Pantene models must never actually use the product!
Dove green tea and cucumber shampoo and conditioner works really well. Actually any dove hair products works really well!

    Herbal essences

    or

    garnier fructis

you can even go to hair salons and get expensive stuff

(tip: leave you shampoo or conditioner on your hair for about 3 minutes or more. itll moisturize it if it stays in longer.)

The only problem with olive oil

is you HAVE to make sure you wash it out completly

    coz ive tried that twice

and i rinsed about 3 times, and the next day at school my hair was so greasy it looked wet i was embarassed and it took like 2 days to wash out of my hair and i didnt use a lot
Use nourishing and moisturing shampoo and onditioner for ultra dry hair.Do not straighten your hair for a while!Give it al least a day a week to be natural.Use a hair mask once a week try this one-1/2 a cup of conditioner +1/4 cup of olive oil then mix it up and keep it there for 10 minutes. Also egg whites and viniger and water make hair shiny but don't doit till your hair goes soft.Let it dry naturally and avoid chlorine. Also try some moisturising hair care products and someone on yahoorecommended babyoil for sleek hair while straightning???hmm dunno bout that one.But good luck.xoxOh and don't leave the shampoo in while you shave!Leave the conditioner in!Over shampooing causes dryness!!!!!
here's a few suggestions (i have wavy hair, and it used to be dry!!)

**these are salon brands.. but definately worth it!

    Matrix Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner

Back To Basics Rich Moisture Coconut Mango(it is AMAZING) Shampoo and Conditioner

    S-Factor Shampoo and Conditioner

S-Factor Leave-In Treatment --- i HIGHLY reccomend you buy this product.. it is so amazing.. it's like 30$, but makes your hair sooo soft!

    good luck!
I have wavy hair as well and I use herbel essences totally twisted. It is for curly hair but it works equally well for wavy hair. Plus , the scents are amazing and they have cool trivia on the bottles. Also , if you are in a rush in the morning they even have 2-in-1 that has shampoo and conditioner in one bottle! IT IS THE BEST!
i have always had frizzy and dry hair, no matter what shampoo i use it's the same, so the trick is to condition your hair with olive oil once a week for 2 hours or more often if you have the time. massage your scalp and then wrap in towel. you will see the difference. now, it doesn't matter what shampoo i use. my hair is so manageable.
get the sunsilk products they have shampoo/conditioner/cream/wax/spray all for certain hair types, I can't remember which one, but I think the one that may help you is kinda greenish..maybe. But sunsilk does really work.
I use biolage and it works great. It is expensive though. They have different kinds for different reasons, like for body, or smoothness, or silkyness i.e. stuff like that
Aussie shampoo and conditioner makes my hair soft and it smells really good.

The best shampoo I've tried is Dove therapy.

It leaves your hair really soft even if its usually dry
    Try Herbal Essences, I use it any it's really great (;
    kangoroo
Try Sunsilk or John Frieda. Those are the best brands, and believe me I tried many!
    pantean or tresame
I really like loreal. If that's how you spell it.
Don try Pantene it is a bad idea try sunsilk!

why have they discontinued Hexocil does any one know? it was such great stuff i dont know what to use instead. Now they don't make hexocil what shampoo can i use instead for itchy skin and dry flaky coat?
malaseb is good from the vetsNow they don't make hexocil what shampoo can i use instead for itchy skin and dry flaky coat?
Malaseb is for treating bacterial and fungal skin infections and we only prescribe it for these things. As it contains chlorhexidine it may aggravate sensitive skin so I would discourage you from using it. Report Abuse

Depending on where the flakiness is you could try pig oil and sulphur.

You can get Malaseb from the vets ( about 拢10 lasts for ages )

t-gel is really good because i use that but it is expensive through but u can also try head and shoulders that will work
if this is for your horse ask you vet .they see this alot and maybe even have them check your horse in case something is wrong.i know you can also add vegetable oil in their feed to help with their coat and skip but ask your vet the amount for your horse.my vet told my about a 1/2 cup a day works great.
Coatex aloe and oatmeal shampoo is what we use at the practice for both dogs and horses with dry itchy skin. Also, adding linseed to the diet will make all the difference. Rather than using linseed oil, which is expensive, use actual linseeds. You can by them semi-crushed, almost like a sort of linseed-meal, and add 10-20g to the feed twice a day.

Our practice manager has a 18 month old with what looks like sweet-itch. He has scurfy skin all over and was losing first his mane and tail and then the hair on his belly. I biopsied his skin but all it came back as was eosinophilic (allergic-type) dermatitis, with no clue as to what was causing it. We allergy tested him and he was allergic to all sorts of things including soya. A change in diet and a switch from straw to woodchips helped but did not entirely solve the problem. My boss suggested adding this crude linseed to the diet. Within a week his coat was glossy and within 3 weeks the scurf had visibly reduced all over, even in his mane and tail.

Linseed is much better than corn or vegetable oil for this kind of condition - any oil will give a sheen to a normal horse but only linseed will make this much difference to a horse with an actual skin condition. I think it's priced at around 拢20-30 per kg but as you only use no more than 40g a day it works out pretty cheap compared to buying oil. If you're in the UK and you want to know where to buy it drop me a line and I'll find out for you.
Oh, I'm having a hard time remembering which is which, but I think you're either in need of Malaseb or Lytar...I think they're by the same brand though, so it shouldn't be too hard to find out which one to use...
i don't know why they stop making it but i do know what really work's the best head and shoulders or selem blue.
T-Gel is what my daughter uses, or sometimes Head %26amp; Shoulders can be very effective.
For horses, you don't want to use people shampoo because it is too sweet smelling and it attracts files. I use this, and it keeps their coat nice and it ahs citronella in it so it keeps flies away.

    http://www.jeffersequine.com/ssc/product鈥?/a>
    For you or your horse?
deff use head and shoulders. it works really well and is cheaper than any other horse shampoo

Any shampoo brands that have helped oily scalp/dry ends and some hair loss?

I guess I have combination hair- scalp gets oily and itchy really fast, while ends can get dry and knotty. I heard stuff like Kerastase's ';Bain Divalent'; or Senscience have helped some folks. Any ppl here w/proven-to-help experiences, please share your thoughts. I just ordered Body Shop's Kettle Oil Balancing Shampoo- supposed to decrease oil the natural way instead of all these alcohols that in the end cause more oil secretion.

THank you.Any shampoo brands that have helped oily scalp/dry ends and some hair loss?
I have just the shampoo %26amp; conditioner for you: Aussie Cleanse %26amp; Mend. It is made especially for hair that's greasy at the top and dry at the bottom. I have a friend who uses it and says it works really well.Any shampoo brands that have helped oily scalp/dry ends and some hair loss?
Hair loss is normal. Each individual hair actually has a growth cycle. You can safely lose up to 100 hairs a day.

With that in mind, considering your hair condition, you should aim to use shampoo that's specialised for oily scalps, and a moisturising conditioner -but put it on your ends only - not on your roots.

De Lorenzo Scalp Balance is a great shampoo to regulate oil levels on the scalp, and is formulated for a variety of scalp conditions (but smells pleasant).

Whilst KMS does a great moisture and shine range - so i recommend their conditioners.

What's the best shampoo for a dog with dry sensitive skin?

My dog has the same skin problem. He kept scratching from his dry and itchy skin. My vet and a lot of pet stores have recommended ';Natural Care'; shampoo. Its made of natural ingredients that won't harm you're pet. Also, there are a few types that include oatmeal. I've bought and tried the 8 in 1 oatmeal shampoo before but it only helped the shininess with the coat, it didn't really help the dry sensitive skin. Try buying one that includes oatmeal in it if you want. But you should ask you're vet about it or talk to your pet store employees, majority of them are very educated and passionate as you and can provide good recommendations, if still unsure ask vet, different breeds react differently. =)What's the best shampoo for a dog with dry sensitive skin?

My dog's skin has been doing pretty well since we switched her over to an oatmeal shampoo (bought it at a pet store).
You should get an oatmeal based shampoo for dogs. Don't bathe it more than once a month. Also, feed it a good lamb and rice dog food. My dog had the same problem. My vet recommended those and it did the trick.
AN OATMEAL SHAMPOO IS WHAT I SUGGEST AND MAKE SURE YOU COMPLETELY RINSE THE HAIR
I have been washing my little doggie with Johnson's Baby Shampoo Lavender. When I bought her at the breeder, the breeder said it was the only dog shampoo she ever uses. You can try putting a conditioner on her after if she has dry skin - has worked for me for many years.
Oatmeal shampoos are good. I started to use Mane and Tale on my dogs. That is the shampoo for horses that people use, too. It works great on my dogs. I also use the conditioner on them.
just look it up on google or yahoo.

Talk to your vet about possibly buying a medicated shampoo from them made specifically for your dogs problems. Other than that, any Oatmeal based shampoo is good for dry/sensitive skin. That is what I use most often when bathing my shelter dogs, and my own personal pets.
use a shampoo that has oatmeal in it. i use four paws magic coat Natural oatmeal shampoo, its hypo-allergenic and helps relieve intching and scratching. my dog has skin allergies and this seems to help him,. also the vet told me to use cold water, the hot water tends to dry out their skin causing more itching
Pet store should be able to help you, get one for senitive skin, what else ?Duh!

You can consult a veterinarian and see what he or she recommends or go to a pet store and look very carefully at all the available dog shampoos.... typically anythining with oatmeal in it can be very soothing to a dog's dry skin. I highly suggest that you do consult a veterinarian first to be on the safe side.
You should get a shampoo with oatmeal in it for dogs.

we all love it!!What is the best shampoo and conditioner for split ends and/or dry/damaged hair?
trust me hon and do ';sunsilk'; its great
    pantine pr0-v

    TRUST ME!☺

    break's over or hello hydration
